While the Shapur Gambeson goes well with a variety of historical looks, its design bares an Eastern Asian influence. An outer layer of cotton canvas combined with polyester padding offers extra protection on the LARP battlefield. The oriental cut of the gambeson is emphasized by its mandarin collar and overlapping closure. Three sets of leather strings attached to round felt accents close the front, while cotton lacing adjusts the fit at the waist. The canvas layer enhances the durability, while the felt gives it a slimmer, more comfortable fit when worn under plate armour.
This item is handmade, therefore, it may vary slightly from what is shown above.

Great Gambeson, with a unique look. Quality material, lined, comfortable. More padding where you need it (body), less where you dont
(lower arms).

Great piece; but, I really don’t want to cover with chainmail or plate because it looks so darn good!

We now own three of the Shapur Gambesons and they’re outstanding! They provide full coverage, throat to thigh/knee, and are fairly thick. We’ve used with Calimacil LARP weapons and Kendo shinais (bamboo swords). The gambeson provided excellent protection, certainly more than our kendo gi! We’d still recommend hand and head protection obviously and perhaps chest protection in the form of a cuirass if engaging in rougher sparring.

A fantastic gambeson, well worth the price. I would go for a size up, as the XL was a little tight.
