I really expected this to be so much warmer than it turned out to be! After wearing this gambeson for several hours, it was really very comfortable, both fit and form and temperature.
Initially, I got this because it looked very nice even if its not under layers of steel plate or chain and after receiving it I am so much happier with it! It looks great, fits great, and is incredibly comfortable to wear.
As an observation, this gambeson is thick, and doesn’t compress much. Normally my chest measurement is 50”, but with this on it jumps to 53-1/2”. So, when considering what armor size to get, if using this as your base layer, you probably want to add 3-4” to your chest and waist measurements. I am going to have to upsize my chainmaile now, but until then, I’ll be happy with just the gambeson because it is simply amazing, even as a stand alone piece!
