Part wing spear and part boar spear, this LARP Viking Warrior Spear is a recreation from the Viking age, one that features a hewing spear head with crossbars at the base to prevent anything you gore from sliding up the shaft to you. Unlike its historic counterpart, though, this spear is designed to be safe to use on your fellow man. The spear head is iron-grey with a broad blade and a fine point, with angular flanges just beneath. The spearhead is mounted on a Woodgrain staff that gives plenty of reach and the same versatility of a true quarterstaff in a pinch. It is crafted from an extremely durable foam that does not shred, which has been sealed within a strong coating of latex. As safety is always a concern in LARP, this weapon also features a round, flexible fiberglass core that bends and flexes. The core also features a durable Kevlar cap for added protection, both against the core and for when the weapon is used to stab.

Care Instructions:
- Latex weapons do need to be maintained to a certain degree. We offer a 100 ml LARP Protection Gel Silicone (MCI-3722) in our LARP Accessories section. We recommend you use the silicone on a regular basis. The silicone will keep the coating flexible and increases the lifetime of the weapon. It also prevents the coating from drying out, and improves resistance to wear and tear.

The price plus the shipping costs add up to be quite a bit for this item. Which made me hesitate. However, for my own reasons, I wanted to get a spear. And I was not disappointed with the result.
All in all, I did have to pay a bit to get the spear. But it was shipped very well, came securely and on time. I have never really handled many spears in my life and it was different to actually have this in my hands. It is light and durable for a LARP piece and held up grandly during my LARP duels with several friends who wanted to test it out. As for testing it out, we all were interested in knowing how it would work in combat. (Practice against a shield and sword.)
Turns out… spears are the worst. In trying to get around them, I mean. When you personally have a spear, it gives you range and a certain defense. With my shield and sword, I couldn’t get past the spearpoint without risking getting stabbed. It was a very interesting and enlightening experience, making this purchase more than worth while. A spear thrust knocks your shield around and the spear pole can’t be knocked aside by a one handed sword easily. I found a brawler/axe/mace user had more luck. Funny as that was.
This was a good buy, despite being pricey. It would look well with a guardsmen, viking, mercenary and militia costume, in my opinion.

Excellent balance with a two-handed grip or one-handed with a shield! Medieval Collectibles shipped it quickly and safely, it took a while to open all the padding and wrapping they added which meant my spear arrived in perfect condition. Not only is this weapon a joy to wield, but its look is adaptable enough to use with almost any kit, and it’s durable enough to stand up to plenty of LARP fighting. I look forward to wielding it for years to come!
