To achieve status as a legendary warrior, you need to be able to move comfortably in your medieval armour. The Imperial Gambeson covers your arms, neck, and torso down to the hips, keeping your armour from pinching or rubbing. It can be worn on its own or under mail or plate armour depending on your preference. The padded gambeson closes with a system of cotton cords, allowing the wearer to customize the tightness of the fit. The arms are easily detachable with cords secured through brass eyelets. This sturdy gambeson is constructed with heavy layers of fluffed cotton canvas. All these layers are stitched together in vertical lines, keeping the padding in place and mimicking European high-medieval style. Though of European cut, quilted-style armours have seen wide use since antediluvian times, making the Imperial Gambeson a great armour essential for a range of ensembles.

This is probably one of the more authentic looking gambesons out there. A gambeson like this is essential if you have the type of armor that needs to be tied on rather than buckled, like the Churburg armour.

The look of this thing is impeccable. I feel so cool when I’m wearing this gambeson. The only thing I would note is that it’s not super thick padding and if you intend to use this for actual combat, you may want to supplement it with other padding.

Hands down the best looking gambeson I have owned, the sizes seem to run a little small but not by that much. I ordered a large and had to end up with getting a extra large. Its fantastic for historic armor that needs to be tied on or just to wear without.

Exceptional quality! As someone who sweats pretty easily this gambeson had me a little worried at first. But it’s padded nicely enough to wear with plate, to cons or faires, but not so much that it turns into a sweatbox! Fits well too! For reference, I’m 5’11” and 200lbs and I ordered a Large.
