Seems very sturdy! I have not yet had the opportunity to wear this to fair yet, but I have tried it on, and it’s very big/thick as I figured it would be. I plan to use it with plate and chain mail eventually, but for now will wear it alone, perhaps with a pair of gauntlets. Very happy with the modifiable nature of this particular gambeson as well, sometimes I’ll wear it sleeveless, or even just the vest.

Well worth the price!
I bought this thinking it’d make for both a good standalone sturdy tunic as well as an arming gambeson. I was wrong. It’s SO much better than that. The leather ties that connect to the arms and tassets beg for personal customization. I tied my chainmail to these ports so I can throw on both the gambeson and maille at once and save a good chunk of time in getting into armor. I’d recommend breaking in to it first before throwing armor on top, as the suede and the straps- expectedly- are a bit stiff at first. Run around, do some pull ups, spar for a bit, just to get the leather more worked into your own shape. I’m 6’2 and 150 lbs and ordered a medium, and it’s only a little short in the sleeves. This is fine though— it gives more movement in the wrists! It’s currently winter, so this does hold up well against the cold with only a tshirt underneath. I couldn’t recommend it enough— this is one of those products on Medievalcollectibles that any knight-aspiring person should ABSOLUTELY get their hands on.
