Winters are cold in Scandinavia. This means the best way to survive is to use layers. The Classic Viking Underdress combines functionality with authentic medieval style to provide a classy, humble piece of Viking underwear. This ankle-worn cotton dress fits loosely over the body, granting a comfortable wear with a wide range of motion. This looseness does not impede the wearer from putting on other medieval dresses over it, however, and its V-slash neckline makes it compatible with a large variety of medieval dresses or womens tunics. Because this style was designed by Vikings, its sleeves reach the wrists, keeping body heat contained in wintry weather. The Classic Viking Underdress comes in three colors and a range of sizes. It makes a fantastic addition to any medieval or Renaissance ensemble.

This is a nice dress that one can wear both as an underdress with an apron or tunic, as well as by itself. The cotton fabric has a comfortable feel and weight to it, and the red stitching around wrist and neck is lovely. It is quite roomier in the shoulders and upper arms than I expected. I bought it a size larger for shrinkage, which was way too big (over 4″), so washing and drying it on high helped a lot (shrinkage was 1″ maybe even 1.5″ in the side and hem).

Very nice. Really like the red stitching. I had to let it out over the bust so that it would fit better. I like that it is cotton but the cotton is very thick and heavy, would prefer a lighter fabric.

Comfortable fabric, generous fit, and washes well. Easy to rehem to my petite height. A nice deep blue with contrast natural stitching at the neck.

Super disappointed with this one. I’m 5’8” and 190, 44”/37”/46”, and tried a large since that’s all that was available. It would have fit well if the thing was made to be worn, at all, to begin with. The top of the cut is great, and the material and quality is Burgshneider, so great. The skirt is not made for people who walk, unfortunately, let alone anything else. The A-line is more of an H-line, as it were, and if you ever have to DO anything in your clothing, this isn’t going to work out if you like remaining upright.
