The Two Hand Medieval Practice Sword is a light sparring option for anyone looking to practice their sword forms and movements. Historically, a wooden sword or waster allowed a warrior to practice full combat safely and economically while preserving his precious steel for the real battle to come. This sword design comes from the 12th to 15th centuries. This two-handed sword is fully seasoned and hand crafted in solid hardwood, with contrasting wood guard and pommel. This sword also makes a great piece for kids to use as a part of a costume or for practicing their sword skills.

The sword length is perfect, and it is relatively lightweight (as compared to polypropylene or steel blades). I’m not advanced enough to know a “good balance” from a “mediocre balance” at this point; however, the sword does not feel at all cumbersome to swing.

My only complaint is the stain used to color the pommel and cross stains my hands yellow during extended practice, so I’ll probably just sand those slightly.

Beyond that minor annoyance, though, this has been excellent for practicing my longsword form!
