Forged from 5160 high carbon steel, this short sword is exceptionally strong, flexible, and resilient. 5160 high carbon steel is an alloy of steel-hardened chromium, manganese steel, and silicon. This type of steel is also resistant to rust and boasts an impressive edge retention. This fully functional weapon is forged with a full tang. Having a full tang means the metal blade extends into the handle as one piece, granting the weapon increased flexibility and balance.

As with any sword, the most important feature is the blade. This dragon sword has a double-edged blade with a hollow grind. The blade also has an acute and distal taper. The acute taper means the blade’s profile gets much narrower toward the tip, while the distal taper refers to the blade’s thickness. The Darksword Armory logo is engraved on the base, so you know you’re wielding a weapon crafted with quality and authenticity.

Protecting your grip is a bronze guard cast in the shape of a curling dragon. This dragon has intricately carved scales. One quillon is the tail while the other is its long neck. In the middle, the quillon block angles over the broad base of the blade. Just underneath this bronze dragon is a textured handle of ebony wood. The handle accommodates a secure one-handed grip. This grip has knotwork risers at the top and bottom, with a swell in the center. At the bottom, the pommel resembles a flanged dragon’s egg with bronze accents. This pommel is intentionally oversized for balance, putting the point of balance at the crossguard.

This medieval fantasy short sword comes with a wooden scabbard wrapped in genuine black leather. At the top, it has an angled throat for protecting the crossguard when sheathed. Embossed lines down the scabbard’s body add depth and detail. At the bottom is a steel chape for ensuring the tip of the blade doesn’t poke through.
