Made from high carbon steel, the Sticklestad Viking Sword is a beautifully balanced and highly effective weapon. Capable of both cutting and thrusting, the blade is also a delight to the eye. Copper decorates the pommel and guard. It is named after the final battle of St. Olaf. This was warfare in the old school, with two hosts meeting face-to-face and sword-to-sword. It was a brutal, bloody, and deadly fight, and in the end, the mighty Olaf fell. Gaining a lot of fame for his exploits, he was eventually canonized as St. Olaf. This attractive Viking sword is copied from a specimen that was quite involved in that kind of vicious encounter. A wide fuller runs down its length, and the wood grip is covered in leather. A matching scabbard is included.

This sword is beautiful. It feels good in the hand and the scabbard is well made, if somewhat unauthenticate. The grip leather is suede, unfortunately, as is the scabbard leather, but overlooking that, this sword is an incredible buy. I genuinely love it.

You are gonna want to pick this bad boy up. The detailing on the hilt and pommel look even better in person, the wrap on the grip looks way better up close. Super comfy in the hand, and VERY light. Great for a beginner sword dabbler. Weighs almost a pound less than my Legacy Arms viking sword.
After a quick sharpen I was pleased to see how comfy it slashes and cut through cardboard tubes with ease. I must warn! Point of balance is very strange! Not out of the range of historical possibility but very far down the blade. Takes a lil get used to while swinging.
