The Medieval Closed Greaves consist of shin and calf plates, offering great protection to the lower leg of the wearer. The steel greaves are connected with hinges on the outer sides and fastened with leather straps and brass buckles. Pegs on the leg armour allow you to attach poleyns to the leg guards with ease. These leg guards work well for LARP battles and other historical re-enactments, especially when paired with other pieces of our medieval armour!

Care Instructions:
- This armour will arrive to you covered in protective oil. While this oil can be removed, it must be replaced with another protective maintenance product to protect your steel armour from rusting. Occasional oiling is necessary for the proper maintenance of this armour. When storing this armour, protect it from oxidation by coating it with machine oil. These are the best closed greaves I’ve found at this price point. You spend $500-$1,000 for custom but if you want something you don’t have to worry about dinging up these are it.

these are about a good as you can get for the price, the only issue i have with them is they’ll definitely need a bit of padding at the top of the shin where they will rub when they are on your leg, but if you plan on wearing the to fight in you’ll be doing that anyway so its no big deal. these are awesome!

These are actually very well made and shaped greatest. I am 5’10” 190lbs and they fit me perfectly. The hinges are solid and old-school looking. Nice looking medieval style buckles and decent leather straps. The price is very good. They have a retainer loop for the upper strap to stay put and a steel post atbthe top to lock your articulated knees into. The only drawback is that they are heavy. Being made from 16ga mold steel, they are thick to make up for not being hardened steel. But at this price, its a great deal.

Wore these greaves along with the rest of my leg harness from marshal historical and they both held up great all day at the ren faire. Only reason I can’t give five stars is because they dont quite stay on my calves, and would start to pull my leg harness down and rest on the tops of my feet. By the end of the day it was so painful to walk or lean forward I couldn’t focus on having a good time. This is only because they aren’t made to my custom measurements though and is pretty much to be expected when buying armor that isn’t custom to you.
