The medieval bodice laces along the sides for easy adjustments of the fit. A slit in the back ensures that the waist can bend and twist with ease during fighting or other activities. The leather bodice is suitable for wearing on its own or underneath light armour as padding to protect the shoulders from bruises. I bought the brown version, and it was a lot darker than expected, nearly black, which was the only downside. It is well constructed, and fits beautifully. On the plus side, it even serves to flatten my stomach, which many items tend to exaggerate, so i do love that. Very flattering and well worth the price!

On the plus side, it even serves to flatten my stomach, which many items tend to exaggerate, so i do love that. Very flattering and well worth the price!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I bought both this bodice and the Sarina bodice. At first i had really only wanted the Sarina…but it was out of stock so i ordered the Lucy padded. Now I have the Sarina also. I am glad i have both. Can’t decide which is favorite. I am 5’4” and fluctuate between 130-140 pounds. Medium size was perfect.

This bodice is EXTREMELY well made. The smell of suede came right up to me as I opened up the package. I will say it is very true to the pictures, both in style and in color. I do wish the leather lacing strings were just a few inches longer, but that’s just me. A few words of warning for prospective buyers:
– When I tried to put this on for the first time, I thought I should have sized up. (Ordered a small, I am 5’10” and fluctuate 155-160 lbs.) I tried undoing only one side of the leather laces, and it didn’t seem like it was going to comfortably fit. However, I decided to give it another go by completely undoing both sides of the laces and then slowly lacing myself back in by alternating sides, and it fit like a glove. HOWEVER:
– I am not very big chested, I have an A to B cup at most. This bodice still definitely flattens me out with how much I tightened it. I have plenty of breathing room, but I don’t know what it would be like for other ladies bigger than a C or D cup. I do think the sizing chart is very helpful and serves well to be followed.
– I knew this would be the case when ordering this, but this bodice keeps me quite warm. I’ll have to see how I fare in it at my summer ren faire.
