In addition to cheek plates, the helmet has a guard that protects the upper face including the nose. There are oval eye holes. I have a head with a max. circumference of 23.5 inches and this barely fits my bare head. I cannot see how this will fit a 24-25 inch head. It is very sturdy, looks GREAT. I used a heat-gun on the inside to warm up the material, then put it on and let it cool. That did help, But if your head is 25″ this helmet is not going to fit even with the aid of a heat gun. For those with a smaller head, including females, this would be a really great addition to a larp kit. The overall quality if really nice.
