Inspired by the Viking Age

Forged as one piece from EN45 high-carbon steel, this Viking sword is designed to withstand the rigors of sport and stage combat. Carbon steel is renowned for its strength and durability. The unsharpened, double-edged blade has a hardness of 48-52 HRc and a fuller. The rounded tip and thick edge produced by the fuller make the sword great for blade-on-blade contact sparring.

On one side of the blade are engraved letters that say “+VLFBERH+T” on the forte. The word Ulfberht references its origins somewhere in Central Europe like the land of the Franks, sometime between the 8th and 11th Centuries. This authentic detail adds a hint of historical accuracy to the design, referencing other swords found throughout Europe with the same engraving. On the other side of the blade, a latticework pattern is engraved on the forte. This latticework engraved pattern references from a real Viking sword discovered with this style of engraving in Sweden.

Made of wood and wrapped in brown leather, the hilt accommodates a one-handed grip like true historical broadswords. The short, horizontal guard is made of steel. At the bottom, this Viking sword has a grooved mushroom-head pommel that’s peened over the hilt.

This Viking stage combat sword comes with a wooden scabbard wrapped in dark brown leather. The throat is stitched with black leather for added detail and securing the guard when sheathed. In the middle, the scabbard has a wooden suspension loop for sliding onto your sword belt. This suspension loop is secured to the scabbard with two black bands. The bottom of the scabbard has two embossed rings for added detail.
