Authentic Craftsmanship from Mytholon

Forged by hand from 18-gauge mild steel, this breastplate is part of the Edward armour set by Mytholon. 18-gauge mild steel is intended for LARP combat, costuming, and light sparring. Please note this chest armour comes coated in oil to protect it from rust. This breastplate is best paired with the Edward Steel Backplate (MY102116). Please note the backplate is sold separately.

The top of the Edward breastplate has a concave shape to accommodate the neck or any gorget you might be wearing on top of it. Each side has rounded edges and a concave arm section to make it easier to move in. Each shoulder has a buckle for securing the straps on the backplate. Simply buckle the straps on the backplate to the breastplate and adjust until you get the ideal fit. From the top to the bottom, this chest armour has been treated with an electrochemical process giving it a sophisticated blackened finish. This blackened finish not only looks great, it also helps protect it from rust.

Down the front, the breastplate has multiple articulated plates for a greater degree of mobility and flexibility. The two plates on the front, known as the plackart, have upswept points with riveted trim. Further down, the articulated plates protecting the waist are known as faulds or lames. The faulds have two pairs of straps. You can attach tassets and thigh armour pieces to the bottom of this medieval armour that use buckles.

Care Instructions:

• This armour will arrive to you covered in protective oil. While this oil can be removed, it must be replaced with another protective maintenance product to protect your steel armour from rusting. Occasional oiling is necessary for the proper maintenance of this armour. When storing this armour, protect it from oxidation by coating it with machine oil.
