I purchased the Black style of this glove & was so impressed by it that I decided to purchase it in Brown, as well. They looked better in person than on the website. The coloring was more Brown than the picture leads you to believe–which I was happy to see. The gloves have all the same, great qualities that I noticed in the Black pair: beautiful appearance, quality leather material, excellent stitching, good hand/finger mobility, great craftsmanship all the way round. They were a little stiff, at first, when comparing them to the Black pair’s first test fit. I think that can be worked out in time, though. Using them to hold a sword or polearm could be a challenge initially since the gloves do not grip them very well. Again, they may need a little more breaking in & those areas of the palm & fingers that make contact with whatever it is you’re holding may need to be roughed up a bit to provide a better grip. I also ordered the same size that I did in the Black pair (Size 9) & it turned out that they were too small for me. So, I had to return them for a Size 10—which didn’t fit perfectly, like the Black pair did—but, they were better. Not really sure if the manufacturer had the wrong sizing tags on the black or the brown pair, but one of them was incorrectly sized. I was told they are a hand-made item, so that could have affected the fit, too. The staff at Medieval Collectibles were kind & helpful with these issues (certainly not their fault). The delivery was incredibly fast for the original pair that I ordered and the replacement Size 10 gloves. I do love the gloves & look forward to many years of service from them. I would definitely buy them again & would recommend them to others.
