When you are getting ready for combat, you would be wise to protect your head by wearing a helm like the Battle Bascinet Helmet. Made from 12 gauge mild steel, this battle-ready helmet comes in two sizes. It has a traditional bascinet helmet shape. The helmet features a visor that has a rounded shape and a shallow point in front. The face plate has ventilation holes on the sides in a grid pattern. Additional slots angle outwards to form the eye holes. In addition, you can open and close the visor. It attaches to the helmet with pins at the sides. The visor secures with a spring locking mechanism. It secures on one side with a leather strap and buckle. There is a leather strap that wraps around the back of the head.
Finally, the helmet secures on the head with a chin strap. The Battle Bascinet Helmet makes a fantastic addition to a variety of medieval roles. Wear it to your next reenactment.
Please note that steel thickness may vary slightly due to the handcrafted methods used in the manufacture of this item.
Be sure to wear this helmet with an arming cap for enhanced comfort and safety. And remember to check out our helmet stands for the best way to both store and show off your helmet with pride!

Big n heavy, but couldn’t feel a thing underneath this behemoth when sparring

Its a really thick helmet wich is good only downside is there’s zero pads on the inside and the chin strap is ok i wish it went over and under the chin instead of under only, no holes for a adjustable liner or full avaintail but overall if you get a double arming cap or a custom thick one it works well

I would like to update my review this helmet is a mild steel 12 gauge helmet its perfect for actually fighting BUT this particular helmet doesn’t have any liner or anything IF you want a liner pre installed then just scroll medieval collectables a few more pages and the same exact helmet thats already modified with a liner and holes is available.
This helmet has no liner or holes for a liner you have two choices 1 drill the holes and buy a bascinet liner or 2 wear 1 or 2 thick arming caps.
CHAINMAIL AVAINTALS if you want a mail avaintail then you will have to drill holes for the liner and attach it UNDER the helmet using the same holes for the liner make shure to use wax thread. Due to the locking mechanisms for the face plate you will not be able to put a avaintail over the helmet like a traditional bascinet.
TLDR if you want a good combat helmet that wont break the bank and don’t mind drilling and stitching in both a avaintail and mail then get it

She is a behemoth heavy which is good for Hema, the riveted anchors for an aventail came undone. And the belt too help hold the visor down the tooth is too long had to cut it shorter so it wasn’t impossible to undo the belt. Other than those two things she great just gotta wear an arming cap under.

Probably the best full visor Bascinet for actual armored combat for the money. Solid 12ga dome (seems to be that thick.) The visor has a push-button latch to lock it up, a hook-latch and a strap to keep it closed. The eyes being square holes instead of a slit is great. I wear a size 7-1/4 hat and the helmet fits me good with room for a thick arming cap or padding. The chin strap is thick, but at the wrong angle for me, but that is an easy fix, and I am picky. The helmet is already set up for an aventail having the studs on it and a thin ‘leather’ (?) band to use as a template to make a thicker leather band from. If you do Harnishfechten or steel weapon armored combat in 14th/15th century armor, this will be a good helmet to use if you are on a budget. I am very impressed with mine, considering the price.
