It is a beautiful, decorative hammer. But I only owned this item for a few days, before I chose to test it’s strength. I decided to hit a thin piece of wood, definitely hard on the outside, but only half an inch thick overall, with rotten wood on the inside. I chose this piece of natural wood to hit because it offered something that could be crushed into. In fact I was able to rip of pieces of the wood with my bare hands. But the hammer snapped in half only on my second hit against this very thin, rotted piece of natural wood. I love the way the hammer looks and feels, and it is pretty. But it will break if you hit anything hard with it, with actual force. Beautiful piece though.
