When medieval knight meets Venetian War Hammer, the knight is sure to taste defeat. Based on historical designs, this hammer is similar in design to the Bec de Corbin, with a balanced design that utilizes hammer, spike, and spear to devastating effect. Mounted on a long haft, this pole arm features the typical advantage of a pole weapon, that being reach. The hand crafted carbon steel head, though, also gives it a unique advantage against armored foes, as the combination of attack points are uniquely suited for dealing with armor. The hammer head offers a point of impact for blunt force trauma, the reverse spike poll can hook riders and pierce plate, and the thin spear point can slip through the chinks in armor. And with a secure point of attachment that utilizes langets, this weapon is not only solidly built, but also highly effective for both offense and defense, too. For a foot soldier, this Venetian War Hammer is practically a dream come true, one that allows a warrior to even the odds when it comes to facing a foe in superior plate armor.

First the bad, I never received the hammer because ups lost and or stole it. But the reason I am giving 5 stars is because as soon as I called medieval collectibles they were extremely kind and helpful. They are taking care of all the claims for me and they are going to send me a different hammer because sadly this was the last venetian warhmamer in stock but I will definitely but another as soon as it’s in stock! Shoutout to Katie in customer service! She is the best! And she definitely deserves a raise!

Boy, howdy, but I do love medieval polearms! This Venetian War Hammer is truly bad ass! The appearance of the weapon is wicked for certain. The hammerhead itself features five ways to kill an opponent; or at the very least, ruin his day considerably. The hammerhead has a four-pronged hammer to strike and mangle armor; it also has a 6.5-inch four-sided spear-point for thrusting (which is thin enough to capitalize on gaps in plate armor). Opposite the hammer is a very wickedly shaped, slightly down curving 3-inch spike; its downcurved shape obviously designed to coincide with a forceful downswing of the polearm, maximizing and concentrating the force of the blow so that the spike digs in deeply! The lateral sides of the hammerhead sport a one and a half-inch spike on either side, which can be utilized to strike an opponent with a sideways glancing blow. The pole of this polearm is a hardwood square shape, which fits nicely in hand. There are langets extending from the head of the weapon to roughly 20-inches down two sides of the haft. Langets were used on polearms to stabilize the wooden haft when striking an intended target; they aren’t used to attach the head of the weapon, as many assume. One bonus that I hadn’t noticed in the description when purchasing this polearm, is that the butt-end of this 5-foot weapon is a squared two and a half-inch spiked steel butt cap. This butt cap is a deadly weapon in and of itself! It also is supported by langets that run approximately 9-inches up two sides of the haft from the bottom. I am very pleased with this polearm: its construction is solid, the materials of its manufacture are high quality, and its appearance is wicked medieval awesome! 5 stars for this one too!
