Displaying excellent craftsmanship, the Steel Markward Cuirass consists of a breastplate and backplate connected with leather straps. Rivets add detail to the front and back, matching the bright metal finish of the plate armour. The steel cuirass is designed to go well with other medieval armour, especially our Markward-style pieces. We recommend wearing a gambeson or other padded arming wear with this torso armour to maximize comfort. The metal cuirass works well for LARP events, re-enactments, and Renaissance fairs, making it a great choice for warriors and collectors.

For its price, this is a very good cuirass. Unfortunately, in my case, the smiths botched the job a bit and the bottom plate of the cuirass is a little off center, so the whole thing looks a bit odd when worn.
Other than that, the straps work well and no other issues have been had.

Excellent Cuirass for the money. A simple and sturdy design, great for beginners in plate armor. My waist measures around 44″ with a gambeson on, and it still fits securely.

A brilliant breast and backplate that sits high on the chest, leaving most of the belly exposed so you don’t have to worry about mobility.
The size was a little tight, especially when going over my gambeson, but a little stretching of the metal made it fit perfectly.
I definitely recommend measuring your chest while wearing your gambeson, even more so if you’re planning to wear mail underneath.

For what it costs, it’s great. If it was more expensive I probably wouldn’t give it as many stars, but for the cost I’d rate it high. It allows for a surprising amount of bending and freedom of movement- I was not expecting that from a cuirass with a solid chest plate (the back plate does have a joint). It did require a bit of bending to fit properly, and the chevron on the front is a little off-center, but that’s not the end of the world for me. Also came quite greasy, but again, an easy fix.
