You can add some extra defense to your favorite shield or create your own design when you add the 7.5 Inch Steel Boss to it. This 14-gauge carbon-steel boss features six holes to secure it to a shield, not included. You can also use the holes to mount some shield grips. The boss has a polished finish.
Use the rounded surface of this boss to deflect enemy blows. The boss has a semi-conical shape, allowing more room for a gloved hand. It is a great piece for DIY projects. This steel boss looks wonderful on a variety of historical or fantasy shields.
Please note that this item does not include hardware for attaching to a shield.

Had delivered exactly what I expected. Solid, well cut, and a pretty addition to the center of my shield. I’m an SCA heavies fighter as well as a bit of a fitness nut so I know how important it is to have well-crafted, fully functioning pieces of equipment whenever you’re involved in physical activities. Needless to say this more than fits the bill. Would definitely buy again!

This shield boss is AWESOME. Take a ball-peen hammer to it and give it some dents, paint it black, then polish it–leaving the black dents–looks battle-worn and ancient. Tough enough for a sword or axe hit, that’s for sure! Get one, and build your own battle-ready shield! I highly recommend!…Mark M.
