The blade of this stunning cut-and-thrust sword is made from 5160 high carbon steel that has been deferentially heat treated. The guard of the sword features thin golden quillons and floral French accents, while the writhen pommel is modeled directly after a real 15th century Katzbalger. Designed by the renowned American bladesmith Bruce Brookhart, this sword also includes a black scabbard with steel mountings. This particular sword is strong, flexible, and very sharp. Holds up during testing as well. Definitely worth the price.

I really like the sword a lot! I purchased the sharpened version. First off, delivery went great, the shipping box was sealed tight and had a lot of padding material to prevent the sword from rattling, in addition the sword itself was wrapped tightly in layers of plastic with extra padding added to the crossguard. The only imperfections I noticed were as follows: one quillon isn’t perfectly straight but instead it is at a very slight angle compared to the other and there was some material (probably wood shavings from the inside of the scabbard) stuck onto the blade which required cleaning. Other than that, the mirror polish shines bright after you oil the blade, however, the blade did arrive oiled already. The blade, handle, and pommel are all aligned perfectly. The spine created by the hollow grind is also centered perfectly with the crossguard of the sword. Overall, my Sovereign Sword is sharp, well put together, and handles as expected so I am very happy with the purchase.
