- Remove dirt with a hard brush, then gently clean with leather soap and a soft, damp cloth. Remove soap with a separate damp cloth, then use a dry cloth to wipe away remaining water. OK first off the item is mostly like in the picture except for one thing. The straps are really short. Almost couldn’t get the middle strap to work had to make a new hole in the last inch. Can not wear any padding under for these and expect it to fit. Other than that real leather and comfortable. In the future maybe they can make the straps longer this item really needs that. For reference I’m 6’3 but my legs are pretty skinny and only slightly above average calf muscle.

So overall, I really like these greaves for their simple style, the build quality, and the price. However, like the other reviewer, I find the straps to be a little short. I am 6’1″ with skinny legs and the straps were fine for me, but just barely. I am glad with the bottom two straps that there is not a lot of overlap. That way, they don’t dangle so much. But I could have used one more inch on the top strap to get it through the restraining loop a bit better. Anyway, I cannot imagine folks with thicker legs than mine making these greaves work at all. But my real complaint about these greaves is that they are not as dark a brown as they are shown in the photos. They are more of a fawn color. I may end up dying them to get them to look more like the photos. Too bad they don’t allow user photos on reviews here or I could show the difference in what was advertised versus what I got.
