Axes were a very common weapon across Europe, especially with the Vikings. The Norse Field Axe with Sheath recreates that favorite medieval polearm. A sagwan wood haft attaches to the tempered carbon steel axe head through a single socket. The haft has a wrapped leather grip. This axe features a slightly flared, bearded axe blade. An included leather sheath is designed to cover only the unsharpened edge of the blade. The sheath secures to the blade at the bottom with leather ties. This Viking axe is ideal for historical reenactments and as part of a collection.
This item is handmade, therefore, it may vary slightly from what is shown above.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! It looks exactly as it is pictured. Nice weight & balance. It feels good whether you are wielding it with one or two hands. Nice craftsmanship on the leather grip, too. No loose ends or issues with that to deal with–like I have had with other leather wrapped axes by other manufacturers. The friction-held axe head is nice & well oiled. I plan to reinforce it on the haft so that it remains securely in place. I have not tested it out yet in the field but will update my review once I have. This axe looks awesome displayed on a wall or carried on your back. It is very attractive in its simplicity. The leather sheath for the blade edge is a helpful bonus, too. This is an axe that I would certainly approve of owning more than one. One for the wall & one to use. Happily recommended.
