The Musketeer Tabbard is made from rich blue cotton velvet fully lined with a matching satin. The front and sides are emblazoned with the fully hand embroidered silver cross and fleur-de-lis of the Musketeers, while the edges are finished with a matching silver trim. The generous cut will allow plenty of freedom of movement for either deadly swordplay or the wooing of courtly beauties. One size fits most. No Musketeer costume is complete without this tabbard.

As someone who reenacts, & is looking to reenact a 1620’s-50’s French Musketeer, I ordered the tabard & crossed fingers it wouldn’t be that bad. As it turns out it’s actually a pretty decent, well-made item, made largely of royal blue velvet. At 5’10” the tabard fit me a little long, almost past midthigh, yet it still looked great with the period clothes I already had. If you’re a stickler for historical accuracy a few mods are required (lining & flames around the cross should be red), but it’s still a great looking item even without the red details. The only reason I didn’t give it a full 5 stars is that the back panel is blank where, historically, all 4 panels should have the cross, flames, & fleur d lys insignia. Regardless, the service was great, and speedily delivered (I chose UPS instead of USPS due to the holidays). Definitely recommend!
