Outside of the zodiac ring is a ring of silver knotwork and additional symbology. Each of the golden symbols represents a different holiday in the Wiccan calendar. For example, sitting between the symbols for Sagittarius and Capricorn is the symbol for Yule which typically falls between these two zodiacs.

At the end of each leafy spoke is a different phase of the moon. The darkest phases hang around Samhain and Yule, mirroring the transition into the darkest time of the year around these holidays. Between each pair of phases is more symbology related to the different Wiccan holidays.

Mabon has apples with pinecones, and finally Samhain features a pumpkin and a raven sitting on a skull. Each holiday lines up with its respective symbol on the inside of the wheel.
