This mask made me cry. the quality was far more impressive than I ever dreamed of. I dont normally bother writing reviews but this product was so vastly superior to anything offered or sold by anyone else. it may cost about twice as much as other masks offered by other sites but the quality is far more than twice as good. a true steal of a purchase!

Ordered this for my daughter’s ren fair outfit after the cheap one she ordered from another site turned out to be a rubber mask. This mask is simply amazing! High quality, with a thick leather top piece and a soft, flexible leather under, this mask fits nicely to your face. The mesh eye and nose pieces offer great visibility and breathability. The straps will fit just about any size head, and are very comfortable.

I’m going with the other reviewers on this one! This mask is vastly better than any other plague masks I could find anywhere online!
Most other plague masks are either broiling-hot latex rubber, which are also floppy; or else they are some kind of stiff, rigid, hard plastic which are also very hot, and uncomfortable to wear any length of time.
Most don’t look very authentic either. This all-good-quality, well sewn, leather mask is 5 cuts above any other I have seen!
This mask is comfy on the face; with big eye-holes, and nostril holes for good ventilation. The straps hold the mask firmly to the face.
These types of masks were quickly developed for the doctors and other care-givers, with the large ‘beak’ in the front which was meant to be filled with medical herbs for protection from the “Great Mortality”; and “nosegays” (flowers and pungent herbs), to fight the incredible stench encountered by the doctors and caregivers, given off by the unfortunate Yersinia pestis victims and their suppurating buboes.
Not to mention the myriad of rotting corpses left lying around when the disease really got rolling through the larger population centers.
The death-cart burial squads could not keep up with the mortality rate; and inevitably became infected themselves and died, with no one left to bury them. The smells, and the horrifying sights, must have been too terrifying and heartbreaking for us to ever fully understand that terrible pestilence: or the stunning loss of half or even more, of the entire population of Europe, the Angle-Isles, and everywhere else that plague found mankind living.
This mask is the ONLY worthy, realistic, and well-made real bovine leather Plague Doctor Mask that I have been able to find ANYWHERE else online, or in costume shops!
Worth it!!! This mask will last a lifetime if it is cared for:…and if you don’t catch the plague!!! 5-stars! I love it!
