LARP Scramasax

The scramasax was a classic knife of the medieval ages that Vikings used for virtually everything, from battle to camping, and more. Now, you too can enjoy that same versatility in a side-arm, any time you go into battle with the LARP Scramasax at your side. Like the classic scramasax, or seax, of Viking use, this knife has a simple hilt, featuring a rounded, negligible guard and flattened disc pommel. The blade, on the other hand, gets all of the focus, possessing a broad, cleaving shape that features a simulated fuller down the spine of the blade. The blade also has a clipped point, which makes this knife look like it would excel at both slashing and stabbing. Only this knife is not made for actual cutting of stabbing of any kind, because it is constructed not from steel, but from LARP safe materials! It is crafted from an extremely durable foam that does not shred, which has been sealed within a strong coating of latex. As safety is always a concern in LARP, this weapon also features a round, flexible fiberglass core that bends and flexes. The core also features a durable Kevlar cap for added protection, both against the core and for when the weapon is used to stab.

Please note that the pommel and guard come in gold, silver, and bronze, while the handle color can vary slightly. Unfortunately we are unable to pick specific color combinations for orders.

The LARP Scramasax has an overall length of approximately 24 inches. Please be aware that this measurement can vary slightly, as it is a hand-made item.

Latex weapons do need to be maintained to a certain degree. We offer a Maintenance Silicone (MCI-2000) that can be purchased separately in the LARP Accessories section. We recommend that you use this Silicone on a regular basis. It is an easy, spray on application, and it will keep the coating flexible, which will make the weapon last much longer. The maintenance silicone also protects the coating from drying out, and helps the weapon resist general wear and tear from normal use.
