Like a real katana, it has a green wooden habaki, or blade collar above the guard.

The Karkatau tsuba (CL-418), or the guard, is designed with a green wooden finish to resemble reinforced vines. The tsuba guard has a spoked wheel design with twelve points. The tsuba is sold separately and it’s easy to attach it to your Karkatau katana or your own DIY LARP katana. Simply slip it over the tip and slide it down until it stops on top of the handle.

The grip has an upper section with green grooves and knotwork. Underneath that, the lower section has a green woven pattern over intricately carved trefoil patterns. The focal point of the design is the feline pommel. Crafted to look like a cat’s head, the pommel is intricately carved with spiraling green knotwork. The cat also has white fangs for realistic detail.
