With a pair of the Imperial Floating Knee – Epic Dark Finish, you can effectively protect a vulnerable and exposed body part. This piece of Imperial leg armour is comfortable to wear and articulated for great flexibility and mobility, making it a robust piece of medieval armour for your needs. Crafted from galvanized mild steel, this knee armour has top-grain leather fittings and adjustable ductile steel flanks for a closer fit. The darkened finish looks great and is designed to help prevent oxidation. Color variations may exist from piece to piece. When you are heading into battle, you should make sure that you are wearing high quality armour that will keep you on your feet!
Please be aware that these items are handmade. Slight deviations in pattern, color, and shape may occur.
To properly maintain your steel armour, always keep the metal pieces away from water and lightly oiled to prevent rusting. Occasionally clean the armour with metal polish and re-oil them. Leather care products must be used to maintain the leather fittings as well.

Care Instructions:
- This armour will arrive to you covered in protective oil. While this oil can be removed, it must be replaced with another protective maintenance product to protect your steel armour from rusting. Occasional oiling is necessary for the proper maintenance of this armour. When storing this armour, protect it from oxidation by coating it with machine oil. Pretty cool…..will look great with Dark Drake Armor….if it will all fit together. I’m only 5′-7″ and about 180 lbs , but I think the knees may need some slight modifications. The bottom lame might need a little trimming in order to go under a Dark Drake greave. Also, those little white bows at the top and bottom are all that holds the straps on. I’m gonna replace it with black paracord and figure out some way to suspend them. Nothing is holding them up…..just the straps. Be careful pulling on the middle strap….it’s two pieces riveted on. Overall…pretty good…..but could use a little ‘refinement’.

This is probably my favorite part of the ensemble that I bought, but this comes with a big caveat! In order to keep this floating knee in place you need to have arming points on your clothing to keep it suspended!! The leather straps on the back are not enough to keep it in place, and over time they will sink which is very annoying. This may be something that is common knowledge amongst veteran armor-wearers, but as someone coming into this newly, it should be known that you MUST have arming points in order for this to work properly. Other than that, this is an incredible piece of gear, and articulates at every lame. It looks SO cool!
