Description

A trident is a vicious three-pronged spear that was often used by gladiators during the course of their brutal and grueling fights. A Gladiators Trident was often wielded by a retarius gladiator, a lightly armored warrior modeled after a fisherman. This trident consists of a long, wooden shaft, to which has been attached a vicious looking spear head. AS is typical of a trident, this spear features three points instead of one, with each point featuring a deadly barb that makes every thrust that much more deadly. A retarius gladiator was typically pitted against a secutor, where the range and lethality of the trident would be most effective against a more heavily armored foe. Pair this Gladiators Trident with a weighted net and you will have the basic equipment of an authentic retarius gladiator. Or you can also display this simple yet brutal weapon as an example of the impressive implements that gladiators often found themselves using.
