German Longsword

Take up a classic weapon of the late Middle Ages with the German Longsword. Based on an original German sword from Zurich, this fully functional longsword brings historical inspiration together with a strong, well-balanced design. Its long blade, two-handed hilt, and ring guard make it a fine choice for collectors and historical sword fans.

Made from 5160 high-carbon steel, the blade has an Oakeshott Type XVIIIa profile. It has an elegant taper and a hollow-ground, diamond-shaped cross-section. This shape gives the sword a slim and graceful look while helping keep it light, responsive, and well balanced. Choose between a sharpened or unsharpened blade to best suit your armoury.

The hilt stands out with its detailed guard. A straight crossguard stretches across the base of the blade, with the ends of the quillons curving in opposite directions. They end with rounded finial tips. At the center is a ring guard that adds both style and historic character. A twisted texture decorates the ring and quillons.

An oxblood-colored leather grip provides plenty of room for a two-handed hold. Raised ridges around the middle create a more ergonomic and secure grip. At the end of the hilt sits a classic wheel pommel.

The German Longsword comes with an oxblood-colored leather scabbard that matches the grip. Alternatively, you can choose a scabbard fitted with an interlaced sword belt for a more complete medieval setup.
