The kukri has been used for centuries, dating back as far as 1814 and beyond. This Genuine Gurkha Regimental Kukri is modeled after the kukri used by the Gurkhas even today and is made to similar standards, ensuring that this knife is very effective. Thanks to its wildly effective design, the kukri has not had to change much, in spite of the many years it has been in service. The forward-angled blade creates a distinctive and effective weight distribution that puts more force behind every chop, ensuring that a good kukri is a cutting and chopping machine that scythes through most opposition with startling ease. This kukris blade is hand forged from high carbon steel and features a factory edge, which can be further honed to sharpness later. The blade also features a single fuller, as well as a typical blood-notch, which, at times, is regarded as a religious symbol of Shiva, although it also delineates where the kukris blade begins and helps to guide blood, sap, and fluids off the blade and away from the hand. The hardwood handle is nicely polished and wrapped around the kukris full-tang construction, while also featuring a standard steel butt-plate. The kukri includes a regulation sheath with belt straps, as well as two accessory knives that are typically used for maintaining the kukri, as well as for utility purposes. The kukri measures approximately 17 inches long, with a 12 inch long blade. Do you need a knife whose blade falls with blinding speed and devastating power? Then you need one of these Genuine Gurkha Regimental Kukri, because after all, if they are good enough for the actual Gurkha who made them famous, they have got to be good enough for casual, every-day use.
