Modeled after the Italian barbute helmets of the Middle Ages, this helm is rather simple, yet strikingly effective. The helmet consists of full-metal protection for the head, including a subtle, small ridge along the top, which adds reinforcement and extra defense. This barbuta has a Y-shaped opening, allowing for clear vision and easy communication. This helmet is crafted entirely from steel and has a dark metal finish that gives the helmet an aged, textured look. The finish also offers a level of rust protection and scratch resistance. The interior of the helmet features a liner, both for comfort and sizing.
Please be aware that these items are handmade. Slight deviations in pattern, color, and shape may occur.
To properly maintain your steel armour, always keep the metal pieces away from water and lightly oiled to prevent rusting. Occasionally clean the armour with metal polish and re-oil them. Leather care products must be used to maintain the leather fittings as well.

I’m really happy with the helmet, my hat size is a 7 1/4-1/2, I can wear this helmet with a padded arming coif, worked well together. My son has a giant head and this helmet fit him like a ski mask.

I searched all over the Internet for a really nice-looking blackened barbute to go with my new armor. No luck until I saw a picture of this one and ordered it from MC. Totally blown away. This barbute is beautifully designed and well made with very light (19 ga), galvanized steel. It has a nice leather liner with chin strap and just looks amazing. Fits great with ample room, and the price for all this is unbelievable. Having said that, understand that this helmet is perfect for costume wear, but is NOT designed for taking actual hits. So if you are just into eye candy, this is a most worthy consideration. Love it.
