This archers cowl features a long, pointed hood tail and a short mantle that covers the shoulders. It is made from a medium canvas fabric that provides lightweight protection from the elements. The sizes of the hoods were limited so I went with an XXL just in case. I’m glad I did as it was a little tight and anything else would be too small – so I would recommend ordering a size larger than you think you need.
The quality is great and will keep you very warm. My friend Andy also demonstrated how with a few tucks and folds this garment could be transformed into an appropriate period hat that looked quite nice (still learning how he did that) – which I plan on using during warmer weather.
It is durable. comfortable, and wears well – combine that with the price and it is a great value! It wasn’t exactly what I was looking for as the item I wanted was out of stock, but as a substitute it worked really well. If this is indicative of the quality of all items here (and I have no reason to believe it is not) I will definitely be making future purchases.

Good hood for the price. It’s made out of good quality material, it’s very deep though, so it’s easy to get lost in it and narrows your field of view, but a very good hood for the price.

This hood is great! Plenty roomy and very comfy. Light and cool in warm weather. Great looking worn over my darkened armor, and you can take it off and use it as a tote bag for the stuff you know you will buy at Ren-Fest. 😉

It’s exactly what I was looking for. Great hood for summertime and reinfaires. Fast shipping and great price for the hood. The stitches were great, no loose stitches that I saw.
Only reason why it’s 4 out of 5 was that it was exactly what I expected and not more.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend who shaves his head. I thought it would be perfect for sunny summer faires where sunburn is a reality. He absolutely loved it. It goes well with his ranger’s costume and seems lightweight enough to keep the sun off and not trap the heat in. We have yet to try it out at a warm weather faire so I’m not exactly sure if this will function the way I was intending it to but it sure worked well as a period head covering for the trip we took to our local historic tavern concert. I’m pretty sure he felt like Aragorn sitting in the darkened candlelit corner sipping ale. It goes great with his costume and seems to be a quality piece. I am even thinking about ordering another to go with the makings of my ranger’s costume.
