This is a beast of an axe. Very intimidating design. The blade is very thick with a dark matte finish to the blade, leaving the ground cutting edge gleaming steel looking smooth and bright. Mine had a black stained handle, which does not look as good or natural as the brown wood handle in the photos. The axe handle is a very thick oval design. The steel axe head is very thick steel and is very heavy. This is a raw power weapon, not a nimble one. Comes with a leather blade edge cover that is pretty cool. Overall, it’s worth the price. I think a little mass off the back/socket portion of the blade and bit thinner handle, stained brown, would be an improvement in both looks and handling. But it looks mean in my collection, so she is a keeper.
