I love this cloak! I honestly thought it would be a thin cloak made from t-shirt material, but it far exceeded my expectations! It’s a thick and well made garment that fits perfectly. I’m 5’10”, and it is about 2″ off the ground for me. Looks great, feels great, and much heavier than you’d expect. Wonderful cloak for the money! Thanks again!

I recently got mine in brown and it certainly did not disappoint. The fabric is durable and functional, and the cut and fit was very well done as the cloak draped perfectly and comfortably over my shoulders. The large single button fastener is nice and strong, negating the need for an after market clasp, with an added bonus of a drawstring around the edge of the hood for those you who like a more snug fit. And finally the color was rich and even. Would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in a fine cloak.

A well made simple cloak. The button is heavy and nice quality. Sewed some faux fur around the mantle for some added nord-ness. It’s a pretty long cloak, I’m 5’11 and it almost touched the ground. Definitely recommend

Very pleased. The colors are very rich and deep. I ordered 5 different colors (brown, green, gray, wine, and blue) and the only thing that is different than I expected was the blue. It is much darker than the picture shows which I actually liked because it doesn’t stand out from the other colors like I was afraid it would. The quality of the fabric appears great. They are heavy and warm.

This is a very, very well-done cloak. It’s durable, it’s nice-looking, and it is definitely a cloak.
However, I ordered this as a back-up plan for a cosplay when fabric failed. I expected the brown I saw on the website, and instead, I got a VERY DARK CHESTNUT BROWN. Which, I wouldn’t have ordered this if that was the shade I was going to get.
It’s fine, I’ll salvage it, and it IS a lovely cloak. I would recommend it if you need a cloak. Just be aware it’s going to look a lot darker IRL if you order ‘Brown.’

Now this is a cloak. Heavy and durable, it’s far superior to the cheap polyester cloaks you can get at costume shops. It will definitely keep you warm. Nice length, good hood size, and the black is a deep, rich black.

I was given this cape as a ‘thank you’ gift for helping out in a wedding. The bride and groom also gave their groomsmen these same capes. While I love the color and quality of the material, and the price is ever fair, I have one big complaint against this product. The loop and metal button on the cloak is not sewn on properly and it began to rip off after the second time I wore it. I’m not the only one who has had this problem. All of the groomsmen’s capes from the wedding I mentioned earlier in this review, did the exact same thing. As a matter of fact, of the 10 people I know who own this same cape, 7 of them have had their loops and buttons pull off. Thankfully, I am a professional seamstress and was able to fix mine and my companion’s capes. This is such an important element in a cape’s function and design, that more time and attention should have been given to such an important detail. The problem was even simple to fix which is why I am complaining about this issue. It should have been prevented before being shipped out. Because of this flaw in the design and construction I am unable to give this product the 5 star review I wish to give it. Outside of this problem, I do love my cape and everything else about it. Hopefully next time I receive something from this site, it will be made better to where I can give it a higher rating.

Another great product from Mytholon and great service. Ordered it on Friday evening after hours, it shipped Monday morning and I had it Wednesday. The green is a lot darker then the picture which I knew from an earlier shirt purchase. It’s a dark forest green which is exactly what I wanted. Most companies use a try closer Mytholon uses a metal button which is a lot better and quicker..

This cloak is beautiful and made of thick fabric with a rustic texture. It drapes well on me, and the large metal button that closes the neck is a great detail. I’m not a huge fan of the drawstring for the hood, but I do think it could be useful. I almost bought a slightly cheaper cloak, but I’m glad I chose this one. Bought this for my wife as we were going to the Texas Viking Festival, which was likely to be an all day in the mid-50’s at best, and likely breezy. She had a great dress, but I wanted to have her able to keep warmer and cut the breeze. This cloak did that perfectly. She is about 5’4″ and the cloak just touched the ground offering full coverage which through the most the day made a huge difference for her. The cloths hangs nicely, looks great, and left her perfectly warm all day. I am likely to order a second one for myself if we find events that are cooler, I love the look better than the cloak I have for myself.

It is easy to see why this is one of their most popular, best selling items. Very strong, high-quality material, very comfortable and a perfect style and fit. To call the material “canvas” might give you the wrong idea, as the material is neither stiff nor excessively heavy. But just calling it “cotton” vastly undersells the thickness, and strength of it as well. It’s neither a TENT nor is it a T-SHIRT! Highly recommend picking one of these up. Especially for the price, you just cant beat a versatile piece like this.
BTW… A lot has been made in other reviews about how LONG it is.That was not a problem for me. I’m not particularly tall – 5’8″ – and it still hung a couple inches off the ground. It’s also very WARM – and this can be a mixed blessing. In the fall or winter, and perhaps early morning in the summer, it will give you some insulation. I’d imagine that by midday in July or August, however, you’ll probably want it off.
But it’s a NICE PIECE and I recommend it highly!

This is a fantastic cloak and far better than anything I ever expected to find. The design is wonderful with a long body (I am 5’5” and it just brushes the ground) and a full hood. The metal button closure is both visually pleasing and much more functional than the more common tie design. The cut also allows the cloak to rest comfortably on the shoulders without the closure pulling on the neck. The cloak can can be pushed back, draped straight such that it hangs open in the front, or wrapped closed to cover/conceal the wearer’s entire body. The fabric is weighty, durable, and warm without being heavy or hot, and the relatively large size of the weave gives it the look and feel of a garment that could have been made and worn in the days before factory-produced textiles. The color of the green cloak (a dull yet deep grayish-green) is perfect for matching the natural tones of the forest. I only wish I could wear this all the time. Add to all this a great price and fast shipping, and I give it the highest possible recommendation.

This is the nicest cloak that I have purchased. It has a nice weight to it, it is very durable, and it just feels nice to wear. It has an odd smell when you take it out of the box, but one run through the wash and it’s fine.

I was wary of buying a cloak sight unseen, with all the possibilities of differences in material, cut, weight, hang, etc. Well, I lucked out! This cloak is great! I roughed it up and undid the bottom seam for a worn look. It is plenty long and voluminous; I am 6’5” and 240 lbs. and it wraps around me well. The hood is pretty large and will easily conceal your face in its depths if you pull it forward. Haven’t had a chance to wear it out with a costume yet but I am looking forward to it.

The fabric is nice but sturdy and has a little weight to it which adds to the appeal imo. At 5′ 11″ it sits about 2″ off the ground at just the perfect height for me. The hood itself is wonderfully oversized like you’re cosplaying Darth Sidious and there’s a button with a neat little design that it holds together with. Very good quality, especially for the price. It will also surprisingly keep you warm if you wrap up in it… as I may have fallen asleep in it and found that out personally.

This was the first product I purchased from Medieval Collectables! I was looking for a cloak in town to use for LARP as well as nature walks, it was a struggle finding one so decided to purchase one online. Medieval Collectables was a perfect choice to get me started! The cloak was exactly what I was looking for. I purchased mine in green, I live in Portland Oregon , so there are a lot of forest parks to walk around in and LARP/use your imagination in. Aesthetically this cloak is fantastic! Function… there is some that is left to be desired. It’s too light for a winter cloak and the fabric is too loose to stand up to a heavy rain. I’ve treated the fabric to try and make it more waterproof but have yet to test. On the positive on cooler nights this cloak has proven a fine addition to my outfit and has kept me comfortable for hours on watch.

Love the cloak/ I ordered green and it was a little more greyish green but like it never the less. I am 6′ 1″ and it is about 2″ off the ground. It is a loose weave and should be fine in warmer weather. The clasp is a little iffy and I may need to do a little extra sewing to make sure it will not come apart. Overall I am happy with the purchase.

I purchased a brown one of these and I couldn’t have asked for anything better! I was skeptical about it being canvas thinking it would be thin or easy to tear but there were no such problems. It’s decently thick, flows to just above my heels (I’m 5ft 8in) and completely wraps around me. It is also quite warm, which is a bonus for colder weather where you need to stay warm but wanna stay in costume. I’d definitely recommend it!

The cloak is lovely, I love the material- it’s thicker than I expected, the hood is a good size, and it flows nicely, it’s a good length. Shipping time was incredibly fast.
However, the clasp on mine broke almost immediately, less than 48 hours after opening it, with no strenuous activity and maybe 15 minutes total of wear- I don’t know if it wasn’t sewn properly on, but I did see at least one other review with a similar problem.

This cloak is amazing! This was one of the first items that I purchased from here, and it has definitely seen the most use. It is made of a heavy cloth, but it isn’t stuffy. It rides very well on the shoulders, not bunching or pulling. I have a 52” chest and broad shoulders, so it doesn’t close in the front, but that is certainly not a complaint. I have worn this in the depths of winter and it is great at blocking wind and keeping you warm, while only being uncomfortably warm in the hottest months of summer. I will soon be ordering in green and brown. Highly recommend!
