Crafted from wood and reinforced by steel fittings, this Viking shield is designed for reenactment battles. It’s shaped like a round Viking shield from early medieval history. Please note this shield comes coated in a protective layer of oil. The wood construction ensures it’s manageable without sacrificing protection, while the steel fittings add strength and durability. The front of the shield is brown while the back has a sophisticated black finish.

In the middle, the circular center boss is riveted to the shield on all sides. Riveted bands form a concentric cross-like pattern around the center boss for added style. In between each arm of the cross, there are riveted, pointed oval plates with their own bosses in the middle. These not only add style to the shield, they also add another layer of protection. The shield has a series of riveted plates forming the border, perfect for deflecting incoming blows. At the back, the metal handle gives you a firm and secure grip. This grip is riveted to the shield on either side, ensuring the handle does not fall off when in use.
