Women’s Pirate Shirt

(5 customer reviews)

At first glance, this shirt looks quite girly and frilly. However, have you ladies ever thought about pairing a shirt like this with a pair of pants or breeches? No doubt our Womens Pirate Shirt will look great any way you wear it. Here are some of the ways we like to use it. One option is to go the traditional route, with a skirt and perhaps a bodice, corset or waist cincher. If you are the warrior type, you want to pair it with some breeches, a belt, maybe some light armour, and do not forget the sword frog to hold your weapon! Our Womens Pirate Shirt is just like a short chemise. It has drawstring cuffs and a drawstring neckline allowing you to wear it on or off the shoulders. Made from 100% cotton, not only does it look great, but it is super comfortable too. As with most chemises, they are meant to be roomy, and this garment also will probably shrink a little the first couple of washes. We suggest ordering a size that will allow plenty of room for shrinkage.

I have not seen the quality of the fabric unless you go into a textiles or fabric store and purchase it by the yard but you don’t find on a retail hanger. It is well made and true to description and visual advertisement. When you wear it, people think it is a customized garment because it is not easy to find this style of clothing. Will be ordering on a regular basis. Thank you for reaching back to a time when clothing were sexy and covered the body.

I am going to my first Reniassance Faire in Central Texas this weekend. Since I am new to these costumes I wanted to look good, but I know how hot it can be in Central Texas in the Spring. I ordered two cotton blouses, they are made really well, not the color I wanted, but 2 out of 3 is not bad. I called, talked to a customer service rep and she helped as best she could. You had just sold out of the type of blouse I needed. Overall, I am very pleased and plan to wear the blouses with jeans, not just as a costume.

Measurements seem to be a bit off in the waist. Small was described as being 46 inches, so its a bit of a squeeze if you are expecting it to be roomy as in the description.

Got this shirt for my Merida/Brave costume. It looks wonderful with the blue green velvet dress. The ‘White’ is actually off-white which was perfect because I was going to tea-dye it if it had been bright white. That saved me the trouble of doing that.

Love the ruffles. Material breathes nicely and looks nice. The shirt sits like it was created to be worn off the shoulders, so it will sit a bit uncomfortably if yoo wear it on your shoulders.

This is a really nice affordable shirt, but the sizing is a bit unusual. I initially ordered a small, which fit great down to the hip, where it was rather too snug. I replaced it with a medium, which fit well at the hip, but is a bit too roomy in the arms/waist. Also, on the second shirt I ordered (not the first) the stitching around the drawstring hole on one of the sleeves was a bit loose. I’m going to fix it myself, but it was a bit annoying. Ultimately, for the price I’m pretty happy with my purchase, but it definitely is not perfect.
