I have a 34″ waist but had to put a new hole in it a least 8″ beyond the tightest hole. This was made for Santa Claus! But I was able to just tuck the excess belt back under all the way to the buckle & side the movable loop to the fold until it held tightly. Easy adjustment once it dawns on you what to do. Easier than cutting & re-sewing it to the proper length.

This is a thin leather belt hardly above costume grade. Looks good for show but will not stand up to extended use.
