The Skjold Viking Shield transports you back to the epic battles of Viking history, evoking the spirit of the Northmen who fought with unwavering bravery.
Forge Your Legend in Glorious Battle
Crafted from wood and reinforced by steel fittings, this Viking shield is designed for reenactment battles. It’s shaped like a round Viking shield from early medieval history. The wood construction ensures it’s manageable without sacrificing protection, while the steel fittings add strength and durability. The front of the shield is brown while the back has a sophisticated black finish.
In the middle, the circular center boss is riveted to the shield on all sides forming a flower. Riveted leaves form a concentric cross-like pattern around the center boss for added style. In between each arm of the cross, there are oscillating riveted plates. These not only add style to the shield, they also add another layer of protection. The shield has a series of riveted plates forming the border, perfect for deflecting incoming blows. At the back, the wooden handle gives you a firm and secure grip. This grip is riveted to the shield on either side, ensuring the handle does not fall off when in use.
Take Your Place in the Shield Wall
This Viking steel shield, much like the warriors who inspired it, is emblematic of the era’s battle-hardened ethos. Perfect for Viking personas, Norse inspired characters, and other costuming ideas, this shield is as stylish as it is reliable. Your Viking persona can equip this wooden shield to protect themselves in the heat of mock battles. When you’re not using it in epic shield wall battles, you can turn heads and spark conversations about historical craftsmanship holding this shield at Renaissance fairs.
