Made from a medium weight cotton, this shirt has a visible weave for a more period appearance. It comes in many different colors. Also, it is available in six sizes. The shirt has loose cut, long sleeves. The cuffs of the sleeves fasten with a loop and wooden button closure. The shirt laces up at the neckline. Also, it has a short standing collar. Just below the collar, the shirt has a seam. Below the seam, the shirt has gathers for an interesting detail. At the bottom hem, there are short slits on the sides of the shirt. This cotton shirt works great for LARP events, reenactments, and Renaissance faires.

The size chart must have been changed between the time I ordered the shirt and now. When I ordered it, the chart listed the measurements of the garment. Now, the chart correlates sizes (i.e., S, M, L, etc.) to actual body measurements, and it specifically states so, which I welcome. I wish all the size charts on this website were both explicit and more accurate (see also my comment under the Rurik Cotton Canvas Shirt; I am not talking about a mere +/- 1 to 2 inches). The shoulder, sleeve, and length measurements on my XL shirt are reasonably close the the (no longer shown) size chart. However, the garment measurements of chest and waist are 54” and 62”, respectively. I am happy that they are not what the (no longer shown) size chart stated, namely 64.5” and 67.3”, respectively. I bought the XL because I have long arms (yes, even for 6′-2”) and I thought that anything smaller would have been no good for me. So, in the end it worked out. Still definitely on the baggy end of things but ok. BTW, I tried to purposefully shrink it a little in the dryer but oddly, it did not shrink at all. The thick fabric, quality, and workmanship of the shirt are solid. And obviously, I like the look.

Very, very nice shirt. The quality of the work by Your Dressmaker is excellent. From the design of the shirt to the fabric used in its construction, everything looks & feels historically accurate. I love the collar. It’s just right for keeping a protective layer between your skin & a leather mantle, cloak, or shoulder cape. Shirt collars are easier to clean (or replace) than leather. This shirt works great by itself with a belt or as part of a more layered outfit. The Sizing Chart was correct for my body measurements. No need to go up a size, if you don’t want to. I washed it in a Delicate cycle & let it air dry. (No dryer for this item.) I bought an XL in Hunter Green & it still looks great & feels comfortable. No fading that I could see. Although I could see light through the fabric, it wasn’t exceptionally cool to wear in hot & humid conditions, but I wasn’t suffering, either. To be fair, nothing is cool to wear in those conditions. The large choice of colors is great for finding just the right one for your outfit. I would love to have an excuse to buy 6 or 7 of these in different colors. I would buy this again in a heartbeat & would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality shirt at a great price.
