The blade is forged as a full tang, meaning it’s one piece that slides into a corresponding rapier handle. The rapier blade is designed to pair with the Swept Hilt Rapier (SM36150) and its Black Handle (SM36151) version. Like its historical inspiration, the double-edged, sharpened blade is long and thin. The forte, also known as the shorter, stronger side of the blade, gets slightly thinner down to the tip. The blade tapers into the 1 and 3/4 threaded tang end.

Well, for 98 dollars I wasn’t expecting much. But this blade is sharp enough for a mostly thrusting blade. I will cut! It is needle sharp and slides through hard cardboard tubes effortlessly. . It is very flexible as it should be,but always returns to true. I was going to make a cane out of it but now I want to get another one and actually do a real rapier. I’m 54 and I don’t get excited about much,but I was excited when I started screwing around with this blade. I highly recommend it. PS. THE TANG AND THEEADS ARE EXCELLENT
