These are some of the best costume boots you can get at this price, in my opinion. They look just like they do in the pictures. I bought some back in 2016 for regular Ren Fair attendance & I’m just replacing them now. They have a timeless look to go with many different outfit ideas. The buckles & straps are all functional—not decorative–& are needed to find that perfect fit around your ankle & shin. No zippers on these boots because the shaft of the boot is wide enough to easily put them on or take them off. Plenty of room to tuck your pant legs in before buckling it up, too. (People with huge calves might want to do their homework before investing, though.) The sole is really nice without looking too chunky. The Sizing Chart is accurate & the fit around my foot is quite comfortable. I wear an 11 running shoe & the Mediums felt great. You will need inserts, so get good ones—you can always re-use them on the next pair of boots. The fit was still good for me even after adding inserts. Those with slightly wider feet than normal may find that these boots may work for them. In my experience, the glue in the soles eventually gave out even though I waterproofed the boots before wearing them. So, I re-glued them with a healthy layer of Gorilla Glue to extend their life. The faux leather is durable. It cracks & peels away with time in the areas that do a lot of flexing & bending (e.g., the toes), but I never wore a hole through it, either. I’m not really sure if the waterproofing actually helped anything, but the faux leather is a far lower maintenance material than real leather would be. Absolutely recommended.
