This mail shirt protects the upper body during battle without restricting movement. It is crafted from 16 gauge mild steel with a black finish. The rings have an inner diameter of 9.5 inches. The rings form a 4-in-1 pattern that consists of four chainmail rings woven through another ring. Butted mail is the most economical construction style of mail and has limited historical precedent. item stated it would fit upto a 54″ chest. I have a 50″ chest measurement and this barely fit and all i was wearing under it was a pull over t-shirt. other than that this is a great item
