This is a great looking shirt, and perfect for spring or early fall. Be forewarned, however, that this shirt shrinks after being washed so order at least one size larger than you need.

This is a great looking shirt, especially if you have a nice vest to go with it. I wasn’t sure if I would like the laces on the sleeves, but it’s actually quite comfortable to wear because your arms can breathe.

I ordered this after calling Medieval Collections – they had all the answers for everything from how well the grommets hold up to dying the fabric. This item IS a 100% cotton weave – it will shrink a tad so order accordingly. It is NOT a lightweight weave, though NOT a thick weave like canvas – it’s somewhere in between. They recommended white over natural for a better dye set. Re: dying – I bought 2 packets of Kelley Green “Tulip” brand nontoxic dye at Joann’s Fabric Store – two were necessary because there’s a lot of fabric in my size; XXL. The instructions are 1 packet to 1 gallon of water, hence I used 2. Follow instructions. FYI; though the shirt is 100% cotton, the lacing is not – it is a combination of cotton and polyester thread, which failed to dye the same color as the shirt; it was a pale turquoise. So I replaced the fabric lace with “ArtMinds” Black Leather Lace, size 0.125 inches x 25 yards – you’ll need 17 feet (5.6 yards). The finished piece? – it’s awesome!

A great shirt, all in all.
The material is a bit heavy but durable, and not very breathable. However, the laced sleeves provide the breathability that the fabric itself is lacking. I got the shirt in “Natural” color, and it looks amazing. It also feels great to wear. Though the fabric is a bit heavy, it’s much softer than it looks.
