The historical design of the Gustav Canvas Pants takes inspiration from the Late Middle Ages. Perfect for a knight on an adventurous journey through a LARP kingdom, or one who seeks to reenact a fascinating scene from the 15th century. These trousers are handmade from a robust cotton canvas. The rougher weave not only increases their durability, but also enhances the authentic look and feel. The pants are two-toned, a contrast between black and the available color options, or blue and cream. Thick cotton straps adjust the fit at the waist, while belt loops allow you to add your own belt and other attachments. The included quilted codpiece attaches to the front with cotton cording and eyelets.
This item is handmade, therefore, it may vary slightly from what is shown above.

Overall, these are excellent pants. The only caution I would give is for those who choose to wash them in a machine washer and dryer (i.e., not following the label 😀 ) as a friend of mine did- do so on gentle cycle. These have held up to my tree-trunk legs and another pair my friend has endure weekend after weekend of his tree-trunks AND maille chauses over them.

Excellent . I usually wear a 32 x 32 casual slack, so started with the M size but found those to be crotch tight. Moved up to the L and have a great fit in leg length and seat with plenty of ‘bending’ room. Fabric is heavy and, while not insulated, will add heat during the day. Tie-straps are substantial. Cod-piece is a nifty aesthetic, and functional when in a hurry! Color is strong and consistent. Belt loops are a good touch for waist bags and such.

The pants fit me perfectly. I could not be more pleased with this order. The order was filled within a day of making the order and I received the pants a couple of days later. The material is comfortable. If I had any issue it is that the tie down strings are frayed at the ends. I have aglets I use for my own crafting purposes so I’ll be able to get rid of that single annoyance myself. I am able to move comfortably in these pants.

Runs on the small side. You’ll need to adjust the knots on the codpiece guard. They look great.

The red is darker than expected
But they fit great, are very comfortable
And the codpiece is very adjustable
Overall very satisfied

I normally wear a 38 in modern pants, and the large fits really well.
My advice is to not tie the codpiece too tight…actually not at all tight…
If you do, you will make the garment fit tight, and it will stress the eyelets in the main part of the pants and possibly tear them out.
The codpiece is meant to hang a bit loose, so the boys can be well ventilated.

Comfortable and the fit is just right. The matching jacket pulls the whole ensemble together.

Vary fine pants! The fabric feels vary strong. I accidentally got the red color (completely my fault) but I’m happy I did. It looks vary good. Don’t expect the cod piece to protect you from much without chain mail, though. I normally wear 30” by 34” pants and the medium fit me fine. Overall, vary happy with this transaction.

Great for the price, and they feel very sturdy. I would recommend – like others have said – going up to the next size.
If you are usually a medium, you should probably go to a large, just in case.

I consider these essential to any armoured garb because they are very comfortable, provide good protection due to the padded piece, and are made of sturdy fabric. I think I may pierce mine in the knees and put eyelets in to make arming points for my greaves. They are excellent trousers, and I am truely glad that I bought them.

This is my second time buying a pair of these. The first pair (medium) I found to be too tight after some use so I decided to move up to the large size, which fits far more comfortably. My biggest problem with them is the eyelets can tear out easily if you aren’t careful. But for this price, these pants are absolutely worth it! Almighty God bless you. Romans 8:1-2

Great looking pants, but a few small flaws. the linen like fabric they are made out of is extremely comfortable and breathable for warm weather, but it does have several weak points in it. I usually wear 36 waist or a large in bottoms sized that way for a slightly snugger fit, which I prefer, and went with the same for the pants, they fit great and after a few afternoons and nights of wearing them around the house they broke in nice. Unfortunately, speaking of breaking, the two rear belt loops *were* held on by a single line of thread and popped before I even wore these to the renn faire. I’m handy with a needle and thread and just reinforced the thread, but I would recommend you do it as well if you plan to wear these for something more active than meandering around the Faire.

I’m a relatively normal sized guy, and the medium fits me well. The black and cream is consistent with my other Mytholon clothes of that coloration, and the codpiece isn’t too difficult to use the restroom in as somebody who’s never worn a codpiece.

I would definitely size up they run a bit tight
