- Crafted from 7-8 oz. upper leather
Care Instructions:
- Remove dirt with a hard brush, then gently clean with leather soap and a soft, damp cloth. Remove soap with a separate damp cloth, then use a dry cloth to wipe away remaining water. It’s comfortable and feels very durable. My one and only issues is that a rivet popped off of, on the right spaulder, while walking around my back yard getting a feel for it all. I ordered the matching breastplate and tassets too, and lost one rivet from each piece of armor.

The item seems extremely durable and attaches very securely to the shoulders of the Albrecht cuirass with the three loops attached to the shoulder straps. I feel it would be absolutely safe for any LARP or medium-contact activity.
That being said, the spaulders are larger and bulkier than the picture implies. If you’re looking for a “sleeker” pair of spaulders these are probably not the ideal choice. I have yet to condition these spaulders and have just been experimenting with them out of the box so they may perform better with time.
Also, the bottom front corner of the spaulder an unfortunate tendency to get caught in the arm hole of the cuirass (right in front of where the pectoral muscle goes over the armpit). I feel a rounded corner would help prevent this but I am not experienced in leatherworking and do not have the skill to perform this alteration.
