With its curved, sickle-like shape, the khopesh of Ancient Egypt was a very deadly, and highly versatile, weapon. This Warriors Khopesh Sword recreates its shape for the modern-day enthusiast to own, enjoy, and even carry, if they should so desire. The swords blade is crafted entirely in high carbon steel, and it features a large, forward-set blade that is deeply curved along its length. The spine of the blade is thickly reinforced for strength, while the swords edge is left blunt, for safety. The handle is made from wood and accented with slight touches of brass-metal for adornment, while also possessing a uniquely curved design that fits nicely into the hand when held. Distinctive and deadly looking, this Warriors Khopesh Sword brings the weapons of war from Ancient Egypt back to life, so that an enthusiast might add it to their collection. And given that khopesh swords are not common, this sword is a piece that no collector should be without.

Historical Info:

The khopesh is old – very old. Its origins can be traced back to the 3rd Millennium BC. Sans guard, the sword was wielded with a shield, and its hooking shape was used to either disable or remove an opponents shield, or to disarm them completely. Khopesh swords were also popular as ceremonial swords and the weapons of royalty, as pharaohs have been depicted as using them, and some have even been found in royal graves.

I had nothing but positive reactions upon unwrapping this particular blade! The only thing I would say that isn’t necessarily apparent from a plain view of the Khopesh online is that the reinforced blade makes it very “forward-heavy” and therefore more decorative than functional (even as someone who has trained others and been trained in swordsmanship for a number of years, I was taken aback by the imbalance of weight that was present when holding the blade for the first time). Nonetheless, the Khopesh is a beautiful and unique item for any sword enthusiast, especially those with an affinity for ancient history. I want to emphasis that the Khopesh would be best used as a display item, but one that looks and feels MUCH more than the Medieval Collectibles price and would be a welcome addition to any collection where an iconic, antiquated artifact of war were needed!
