The Hardy Ash from the Dickens Village collection by Department 56 celebrates a famous tree from the St Pancras cemetery in Victorian London. When the graveyard was renovated, many gravestones had to be moved. A man named Thomas Hardy decided to ring them around the tree. Made from porcelain, this well-detailed set includes two figurines. Each figurine has a snowy white base. The first figurine depicts the ash tree.

The second figurine depicts Hardy. He wears a dark yellow vest with blue pants and a blue coat over his arm. He wipes his brow with a handkerchief in his right hand while he holds his hat in his left. Meanwhile, the tree is leaf-less and bare while gray gravestones lean against its base. This figurine set makes a great addition to any little Christmas village display or wintry town scene. The Hardy Ash by Department 56 also looks lovely on display by itself or added to St Pancras Old Church (EN-6007592), sold separately. This hand-painted miniature figurine set is made by Department 56.
