The Sword of Emperor Charlemagne, by Marto, is a replica of one of the most well-known swords in the world, the traditional coronation sword of France, once attributed to the great Emperor Charlemagne. The original is kept in the Louvre Museum, in Paris, France. To this day, it is unclear whether the sword is Charlemagnes famous sword Joyeuse or if it is a different sword of later date. The Sword of Emperor Charlemagne pays tribute to this famous sword. This grand sword has an ornate hilt, decorated with figures set in relief and plated in 24K gold. The tempered, stainless steel blade left undecorated and simple, although the gold-plated hilt and ornate designs make this a precious historic display piece.
